Truist raised its price target on Glaukos (GKOS) to $215, driven by higher earnings estimates for the ophthalmic device and pharmaceutical company. Glaukos specialises in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) devices and iDose TR, a sustained-release drug implant, which secured FDA approval and is ramping commercially.
The target raise reflects growing conviction that iDose TR adoption is accelerating, potentially shifting Glaukos from a pure-play device company toward a higher-multiple med-tech/pharma hybrid. Glaucoma affects over 80 million people globally; sustained-release implant penetration remains in early innings, offering a long commercial runway if physician uptake continues.
GKOS is the direct beneficiary; the stock has been one of the stronger performers in the ophthalmic sub-sector. Read-through is cautiously negative for Alcon (ALC), which competes in glaucoma surgical consumables, and Bausch + Lomb (BLCO). Iveric Bio (acquired by Astellas) and Apellis (APLS) in adjacent retinal therapy are not directly affected.
Watch: GKOS Q2 2026 earnings for iDose TR unit volume and ASP data; reimbursement coverage expansion decisions; any competitive MIGS product pipeline updates from Alcon or J&J MedTech (JNJ).
