Westinghouse Electric is reportedly seeking a valuation of more than $50 billion in a planned IPO, which would rank among the largest U.S. listings in recent years.
Westinghouse Electric, the nuclear power technology and services giant owned by Brookfield Asset Management and Cameco, is targeting a valuation exceeding $50 billion in a planned U.S. IPO — which would rank among the five largest U.S. listings in recent years and comfortably surpass the ~$7.9bn enterprise value at which Brookfield acquired it in 2023 alongside Cameco.
The timing is deliberate: nuclear is experiencing a structural renaissance driven by AI data-centre power demand, U.S. energy security legislation, and the SMR buildout narrative. A $50bn+ print would validate premium multiples across the entire nuclear supply chain.
Direct read-through: Cameco (CCJ) and uranium plays (URA ETF) benefit from valuation re-rating; SMR developers NuScale (SMR) gain narrative support. Utilities with nuclear exposure — CEG, VST — see multiple expansion justification.
Watch for: formal S-1 filing date, anchor investor identity (sovereign wealth or strategic), and whether Brookfield retains a meaningful stake post-IPO. Any FERC or NRC regulatory signalling ahead of the roadshow is a key risk variable.
